David Weihnacht is a uniquely talented individual who combines his artistic vision with a strong technical computer background. By utilizing a diverse range of technical skills ranging from web design, desktop publishing, and expert knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, David can use his writing and photography skills to be an effective communicator for business and nonprofit organizations. Additionally David’s knowledge of computer systems and networking skills often makes him a valuable addition to the work place. David enjoys working with other team members to achieve common goals, often assuming leadership roles when appropriate, he has been know to instigate projects as well when the need arises.

For the past year David has served as Communications Director for several nonprofit organizations in Summit County Colorado. For The Greenlands Reserve Land Trust, David developed the website, www.greenlandsreserve.org including many of the photographs and written content as well as collaborating on the design. David also developed a PHP driven customer response form that integrated with a mySQL database, and an FTP site for the pick up and delivery of large documents. For summitpinebeetle.org, David developed the site and then attended many meetings of the Mountain Pine Beetle Task Force writing accounts of the meeting s for the web and press releases, taking photographs and interviewing experts who visited with the task force. Understanding the points of view of a diverse group of consultants, David was able to incorporate many aspects of the issues into a coherent presentation on the website.

David enjoys working with community organizations promoting the arts and art education. While living in Silverthorne, Colorado, David has been an active participant in the Summit County Arts Council, and the Breckenridge Film Festival.
While serving on the arts council board of directors, David has been instrumental in the growth of the arts in Summit County. He helped layout and design the groups fund raising calendar, participated with the “Focus on the Child” arts in the schools program, developed the website – www.summitarts.org, provided tech support for the Arts Alive Gallery, and helped with other organizational and promotional activities.

With Our Future Summit, he updated an existing site, www.ourfuturesummit.org and expanded the content with accounts of meetings and photographic coverage. David also sent press releases to several papers and researched the issues that emergeged from Our Future Summit Forums to provide additional depth to the web site.

As Sponsorship Director at the Breckenridge Film Festival, David reorganized the sponsor’s package, making it more email and internet friendly. Then he went business to business in Breckenridge looking for sponsors and promoting the festival. During the Festival David was all over the place taking photographs of all the events and participants. The collection of images is being used to promote next year’s festival.

In his spare time David has created a unique portfolio of photographic art work using Polaroid SX 70 manipulated images and black and white infrared photography. In addition to his passion for communication and design, David Weihnacht enjoys being involved with art, music and film. He keeps in shape with a regular yoga practice and is an avid snowboarder.
